Thailand is one country that has diverse flavors. They make use of ingredients that can easily be combined with the many spices and herbs that they have.
Among their national delicacies is Thai Prawn/Shrimp with Asparagus. This is a dish that features the flavors that have diversified Thailand. This dish can vary according with your own preferences, but the recipe below blends on the same plate the sweet crunchy prawn and shrimp with the colorful and refreshing Asparagus.
Aside from being tasty, this dish is like virtually all prawn recipes is very nutritious.
Ingredients
- ½ lb. White Shrimp/Prawns, shelled
- ¾ lb. Asparagus
- ½ cup Stock
- ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
- 2 tablespoons Water
- 2 tablespoons Oyster Sauce
- 1 tablespoon Tapioca Flour
- ½ teaspoon Light Soy Sauce
- ½ teaspoon White Peppercorn, ground
Directions
Prepare the tapioca flour by mixing it with the water. Set aside. Place wok in medium heat. Pour in oil. Once the oil becomes hot, sauté the garlic until it turns yellow. Add in the asparagus and shrimp/prawns. Turn the heat up to stir fry the ingredients on high heat. Once nearly done, lower the heat on the stove.
Season the cooked shrimp and asparagus with oyster sauce, stock, soy sauce and pepper. Turn the heat up. Once the liquid starts boiling, pour the prepared tapioca-water mixture so that the sauce will be thickened.
Dip the Thai Prawn/Shrimp with Asparagus onto a plate before serving.
Tip
